P.T.A Summer Fair
This Friday the 21st June, we are asking for donations of 'unwanted gifts'
(children are allowed to come to school in their own clothes this day)

Dear Parents/Guardians
As you know, Manchester Road Primary School has gained a 'Bronze Kite Mark' in Sport Participation and Physical Education. To continue and build upon our great success in Sport and PE, we have organised a Sports Week that will be held on the week beginning 24th June 2013.
This week will be focused around P.E and Healthy Living and will be integrated into all areas of the curriculum. Literacy will be based upon evens that took place in our very own London Olympics, whilst Numeracy will be focused on collecting data gathered in previous P.E lessons. In the afternoons, the children will be taking part in activities based upon all areas of Healthy Living including the importance of a well-balanced diet and how to look after our bodies through exercise and other Physical activities.
To promote this, the children will also be taking part in a P.E lesson everyday, as it is advised that children take part in 60 minutes of Physical activity every day. Therefore, it is essential that your child has their P.E kit with them every day. Due to the lack of indoor space, your child may be taking part in P.E lessons outside, and so if it is a little cold your child may also need to wear a jumper/fleece.
This should be a very valuable experience for your child and we hope that this week will influence them to become more enthusiastic towards sport and exercise, make correct food choices when it comes to snacks and meal times, and realise the importance of having an active healthy lifestyle.
Mr Cooper
